About Me:
I am tempted to say that I am a vintage junkie, but it doesn't exactly fit. I am super selective when it comes to choosing my vintage pieces.

Some of my favorite items to look for are vintage clothes (especially items from the 40's), linens, pottery, and books. I live in Massachusetts, just miles away from the site of the Brimfield Antique Fair (one of the countries most renowned antique markets) and find many of my treasures there.

"So, what made you decide to sell (whatever you sell)?"

If you've been in my shop you know that I tend to lean towards mens accessories and clothing. People always ask me why I sell what I do. I never really thought too much about it before. Once I got thinking I realized that it's easier for me to give up something I can't really use myself... since I am a woman, don't wear ties, and get the occassional hankering for a Cary Grant movie, mens accessories just sort of fit. Even though I loooove every piece I post in my shop, its not so hard to send i… Continue

Sales have been steady... has me thinking...

I have been having very steady sales since I started my shop. Not a ton, just about 3 a week give or take, but pretty regularly which is totally awesome. So that has me wondering how far I can make AfterlifeForArgyle go. My husband has been encouraging me to list more than I have been. I finally think I am ready to do that, I hope it pays off :) One thing that I loooooove is that I have had several repeat customers and almost all of the buyers I have had were brand new to etsy! I love being th… Continue

Its Brimfield Time!!!

I love this time of year! Today marks the beginning of the May Brimfield Show. For those of you who aren't lucky enough to experience Brimfield you can learn about it here... http://www.brimfieldshow.com/ Long story short... its a flea market that covers 2 square miles and you can find ANYTHING there. I equate it with Disney World: It's stimulation overload, you don't know which way to go first, what to look at. I want to check out EVERY table, closely. What if I miss the find of the century!?… Continue

Oooooh..... New Inventory :)

Over the week I did a bit of scouring for some wonderful new items to list in my shop. I found some great stuff... I bought a large lot of ties and tie clips from an estate sale. I didn't get to go through them until I got the box home and it was like digging for treasure:) I have some incredible and unique stuff to list and I am so excited to photograph them... now I just need to hold back the urge to post them all at once! Anyone else have any exciting finds this weekend?

Just thought I would introduce myself:)

Hi Vintage Lovers! I want to start blogging about my favorite finds and other vintage subjects... but I thought, first I would tell you how I came to start AfterlifeForArgyle. So, a long long time ago, in a flea market not so far away... My mom used to take me to all of the awesome antique sales/flea markets/yard sales that pop up all over New England in the Spring. I loved going through all the old jewelry, buying baby clothes for my dolls, and seeing things that just aren't around much anym… Continue

Hello! Thanks for the add. Your shop is cool. One of the workers at the thrift store I shop at most often was actually throwing away skinny ties one day - she was training someone and telling them "no one wears these anymore". I can't believe they'd do that! Now I can never find them and I have a sneaking suspicion they end up in the trash there! That said, I love the ties in your shop. Your husband is right, list more!
