Just found what I believe to be a miser's purse from a client selling pieces of her mother's collection (the mom is downsizing). I'll have to take a shot of it soon and post it. Very deco- Black beading and in rather excellent shape. A great find ... The piece will be a good addition to my booth at Gresham Lake Antique Mall.

Rita, please post a photo of that purse when you get a chance, it sounds lovely!

One thing I love about vintage purses is that they are often made so well that it's hard to tell how old they really are. Especially purses from the 30's-50's.

This past summer I took a trip upstate New York and browsed through some really fun vintage shops. I bought myself a treat: a black silk purse, edged in needlepoint at the top with a mother of pearl clasp, silk strap. It makes this wonderful, spunky snap when you close it. It stayed in tissue paper for a long time and I would look at it from time to time. I finally took it out and used it and it and I am now on a quest to get a few more of these amazing purses.
